COLIN SCHMIDT
Associate Professor
Laval Technological Institute
Colin Schmidt is interested in Human-Computer
Interaction, Humanoid Robotics, mediated Interpersonal Communication,
Intentionality, reference, post-cognitivism, categorisation, and epistemology.
Colin
Schmidt is plagued with questions about the relation between technology and
society.
His writings, both practical and theoretical, approach this relation from
various points of view.
Some explicitly study the logical essence of the relation itself, others more
applications-based provoke thought in illustrating examples from the fields of
Philosophy of Language, Epistemology of Human-Computer Interaction and the
Philosophy of Mind.
For Schmidt the consequences of placing technical objects before individuals are
of the utmost importance for the evolution of society; hence the impossibility
this author has for not delving into interrogations on where human society would
like to see itself in the future.
